How Can severe Shoulder Blade Pain Be Treated?

I have a twinge-type pain on my left back under the shoulder blade. It started a few weeks ago as a transient phenomenon when I was sleeping on that side. Now I can feel it most of the time and can find a sore spot on my back with my fingers. The arm also feels slightly numb at times.

this could happen after exercise, excessive activity or sleeping posture. there are couple of things you can do.
1.you could do hot compresses for the pain and inflammation.
2. you could ask a friend or anyone else you can to give you a massage in the area, you can use oil or lotion
3. you could rub some anti inflammatory cream or lotion over the sore area like biofreeze gel or voltral emulgel
4. you could also run your fingers over the blade, locate the sore point and gently press on that for a couple of minutes.
5. YouTube has videos for a couple of exercises that can help
6. make sure you sleep on a flat surface on your back tonight, not on the mattress
7. you can take an oral analgesic and that would cause relief temporarily
8. if nothing works out go to a physiotherapist
